Minnesota Department of Education offers programs to support families.
Early Learning Scholarships are available for families to increase access to high-quality early childhood programs for three- to five-year-old children with the highest needs.
High-quality early learning ensures our children enter kindergarten ready to succeed in school and in life. Community KIDS Preschool utilizes Creative Curriculum and the TS Gold Assessment in the classrooms and has been awarded a four star rating through the state Parent Aware program. A four star rating means our preschool utilizes best practices in helping children succeed in kindergarten and beyond. Because of this rating we are able to offer Early Learning Scholarships to eligible families to help cover the cost of preschool. Early Learning Scholarships give families financial support up to $7,500 to help pay for high-quality early care and education to prepare their young children for school.
Scholarship eligibility is based on the following criteria:
Your family must have an income equal to or less than 185 percent of federal poverty level income in the current calendar year. The chart below is a guide that is based on FY2015 poverty guidelines published in Federal Register on January 22, 2015:
For family units of more than eight members, add $7,696 for each additional member.
