Because of the importance of a child's early years to their later development, Early Childhood Screening is required before children begin kindergarten. Through the screening process parents can discuss their concerns and find out about resources in the school and community. Children are eligible to be screened at age 3.
Early Childhood Screening is a quick and simple check of how your child is growing and developing. It's purpose is to affirm a child's development and identify any early needs for educational assistance. When completed between the ages of 3 and 4, screening can detect possible health and/or learning concerns, so that children can get help before they start school.
Please check to see if your child has been screened through our free Early Childhood Screening program. If you are unsure or need to schedule an appointment, please call 507.494.0900.
