ATTENTION:  7th and 8th grade football and volleyball practice will start on Tuesday, September 6th.  This is not a regular school day for 7th and 8th graders but football and volleyball practice will still be held.  Practice will start at 3:30 p.m. and end at 5:30 p.m.  Football will practice at the Winona Middle School and volleyball will practice at Goodview Elementary.  Parents must provide transportation for your athlete on Tuesday.  All athletes must be registered for football and volleyball prior to starting practice.  Parents must register online.  Please go to the WAPS website and click on Activities and then Winona Senior High School Athletics and Activities.  Athletes also must have a sports physical on file in order to start practice.  For more information, please contact 507-494-1060.

The following 7th and 8th grade traveling competitive sports will be offered to all middle school students during the upcoming fall season:
7/8 Football starts on September 6 for students in grades 7-8.
7/8 Volleyball starts on September 6 for students in grades 7-8.
High School Boys/Girls Soccer starts on August 15 for students in grades 7-12.
High School Boys/Girls Cross Country starts on August 15 for students in grades 7-12. 
High School Girls Tennis starts on August 15 for students in grades 7-12.
High School Girls Swim/Dive starts on August 15 for students in grades 7-12.

        Cost for all 7th and 8th grade athletes is $70 per sport. The individual yearly sports cap is $175.  

There will be a sports registration meeting for all high school sports on Monday, August 1st at 6:30 p.m. at the high school for students participating in high school boys/girls soccer, boys/girls cross country, girls tennis, and girls swim/dive.  Individual team meetings will follow at 7:30 p.m.  There will NOT be a sports registration meeting for students in 7/8 football and volleyball.  The coaches will give you the registration information after your practice begins.

We also have non-athletic activities available such as: Hawk Help Club, Helping Hands, Chess Club, Art Club, Media Club, Fitness Center, and Lego Club. 
Before a student can practice or participate in a sport, a current eligibility form must be completed online as well as a current physical per Minnesota State High School League rules. Students and parents must be pro-active in checking on physical dates. Athletic physicals are good for three (3) years. Current physical dates are on file in the After School Activities Office at the Middle School or the High School Athletic Office.
